Nursing Cover Recipe

(See photo for measurements)
1. Sew hems on sides & bottom (if desired you can create a pocket at the lower corner, or an accessory strap out of ribbon before sewing hems)
2. Sew casing across top
3. Insert boning into casing and center. Sew into place across ends of boning
4. Sew top casing closed at edges
5. Sew straps and attach D-rings to short strap (fold over to form a loop and then sew with zipper foot close to D-rings)
6. Attach straps to top seam, centering strap over boning ends. First sew straps with raw edges almost even with top of cover. Fold strap back over stitching and sew again. Repeat with short strap.

The boning will cause the cover to bow away from the wearer, allowing mom to see baby while nursing. These also make awesome sunshades for baby in a sling/snugli. If you are a sew-er then you won't have any trouble putting this cover together. Not into sewing? I bought my first one from Bebe Au Lait and it was worth every penny.

I made a nursing blanket after I had Stella and I loved it.
