Princess Mania
It all started at bedtime a few months ago. Addie was mad about something and she didn't want to hear "I am Jesus Little Lamb" (the usual night time tune), so I sang her "Part of this World" from the Little Mermaid. She started requesting it at bedtime, in the car, at the grocery store, in church, ...EVERYWHERE. So, I bought her the soundtrack. Now we're all tired of it, well, except for Addie. She still can't get enough. You can sing any little part of the song and she will start up:

Acrobat Jack
Jackson's school puts on a circus every year. We didn't know what to expect. I knew that Jackson was to be an acrobat via notes sent home about costuming, etc. Jackson wouldn't tell us anything. So tonight we went and were tickled to tears (okay, so it was just mom who blubbered through the whole show). Jackson came out and did his act proudly. On the way to the car I was giving him a hard time about how he didn't tell me anything about practicing somersaults and he looked up at me and smiled this big smile and said: "WELL today at practice Frankie wasn't paying attention and so when I did my somersault I kicked her in the head!" Oh man. He loves school and I think he enjoys keeping the good stuff to himself most of the time. Which is okay.

Fun in the Pool
The kids are loving the pool this year. We didn't get that much use out of it last summer with all the rain, and Addie still being a itty-bitty person and all. Ad is the wildest one by far--my quick reflexes coming in handy more than once. Jackson likes to splash whoever is driest (usually me) and "scoober dive" with his fins, mask, and snorkel. I highly enjoy serving as their lifeguard, and sunscreen/towel attendant.
Today Jackson was telling me why he couldn't eat his pizza: "because it's too sad." I looked over there and his pizza was hanging down, so I held it so it was straight and that seemed to make everything better. I am still laughing about it...

Snow!
The kids and I had so much fun playing in the snow Thursday and Friday. This was Addie's first snow and she LOVED it. I dressed her in Jack's old snow suit and coat, shoes, and hat. She reminded me of the little brother in A Christmas Story who gets bundled up so tightly that he can't move. She just stood in the snow and smiled. Jack took exactly 60 seconds to disturb an entire yard of freshly laid snow. He got to try out his new waterproof coat and mittens--which worked great. Here are a few pictures and a video for you to enjoy.
