2011
I didn't really want to start the new year playing catch up, but that's just how it is around here. Tonight I am sitting down at the family computer for the first time since last year. Really. Thanks to the Iphone Santa left in my stocking and the ITband injury I sustained a few weeks ago, I haven't made it up the stairs (stairs are especially painful) since last year. So I haven't been computing, but I have been busy working around the house.
The Christmas decorations are all put away (at least are out in the garage), the kids' rooms are reorganized and new toys in place of old. The house is cleaner than normal--you know, in honor of the new year. Lucy is back with us in the form of ashes in a little velvet bag, and we have finally gotten used to the quiet of just one dog. The kids are getting back into the cycle of school & extracurricular activities slowly, but definitely faster than mom.
David and I ushered in the new year sitting on a balcony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico in Corpus Christi...ok, wait...technically we ushered in the new year by being sound asleep in a hotel room with our kids, after running 8 miles (me) and swimming with kids for two hours (David), but earlier, we had been on said balcony (I will post about our fabulous road trip soon). I love that time where the old year meets the new year. Where we've been vs. where we're going. It's exciting even after 3*ehem* years. Will I feel this way when I'm 80? I hope so!
