Racing into the New Year
back home celebrating our victory with Ben & JerryTo celebrate New Year's and our new love (or at least tolerance) of running, we ran in the Race into the New Year 5K. The race started at 11:45pm and at 12:00am we watched fireworks and drank champagne at the halfway point on the course. We even saw some couples manage a kiss as they ran--both of us a little accident prone, didn't attempt that! As far as races go, it was a little bit of a slow start with 769 people all squeezing in a five foot wide running trail, but the atmosphere was exciting and totally worth the slower time! Wow! That sounds like it was alot of fun! I wish they had something like that here in Texarkana!! I got a running-motivation book for Christmas and as soon as I finish Marley and Me, I am going to read it! I will let you know how it is. I know I need all the motivation I can get!! HeHe!
