Racing into the New Year
To celebrate New Year's and our new love (or at least tolerance) of running, we ran in the Race into the New Year 5K. The race started at 11:45pm and at 12:00am we watched fireworks and drank champagne at the halfway point on the course. We even saw some couples manage a kiss as they ran--both of us a little accident prone, didn't attempt that! As far as races go, it was a little bit of a slow start with 769 people all squeezing in a five foot wide running trail, but the atmosphere was exciting and totally worth the slower time! Wow! That sounds like it was alot of fun! I wish they had something like that here in Texarkana!! I got a running-motivation book for Christmas and as soon as I finish Marley and Me, I am going to read it! I will let you know how it is. I know I need all the motivation I can get!! HeHe!
