His First Day of School {Sigh}

Jackson marched 10 steps ahead of me...up the stairs and down the hallway of his school this morning. We passed lots of nervous, crying 4 years olds on our way. He entered his classroom, threw his backpack and lunch sack on the floor and headed straight for the books. When I called after him, "Jackson, you need to put your backpack and lunchbag where they go" he said, "You can do it, mom!" He was preoccupied with a Tyrannosaurus Rex book when I came over to bid him adieu. He gave me a side hug and patted my back a few times...never taking his eyes off the book. He had a great day and is looking forward to tomorrow. I enjoyed my day with Addie, who as we left the school (after she realized she wasn't getting left, too) was singing: "Addie, Addie, Addie!"
