A Very Good Day

Man, I'm tired today. It's no wonder after the day we had today. We started the day off with a trip to the zoo. J spotted his first animal right away--a bird in its nest snuggled in one of the buildings...I don't think it was an actual exhibit, but was probably the highlight of J's trip. J also likes the rock exhibit, which of course I love talking about with him. He is only interested in whether or not a rock is a "volcano" rock. Not quite interested in P/T diagrams & crystal symmetry/morphology yet, but I'm working on him. LOL.

We came home from the zoo and put on our aprons to bake cookies. My little helpers abandoned me to take their respective "rests," so I enjoyed a bit of alone time in the kitchen.

J & A had swim class tonight. J is doing so great--especially considering 6 months ago he was terrified of going underwater despite graduating all of his baby swim classes. It is so much fun to watch him interact with his teacher and the other kids in his class. A had a good night too. She is getting more and more comfortable going under water, although she refuses to give her teacher high fives after going under. She and I are having fun swimming together.

Got good news from my Endo. today--test results came back okay. Now that can go on the back burner for awhile. I know that many of the complications from Diabetes will certainly come my way at some point, but it is so reassuring every time a test comes back with a favorable result.

I'm also still beaming about TU's win last night. David has been so sweet to attend many of the TU games with me, including last night's exciting game with Houston. Fun to see them winning again. (C & Beccy, I cheered for you, too!) And fun to get a rowdy date night with my husband.

David is working late tonight, so I'm hoping to get a little sewing in before I pass out. I know the last thought that will go through my mind in the 5 seconds it will take for me to fall asleep: "Today was a very good day."
